This is about saving lives.

I wrote about  my yellowjacket encounter in July ‘08.  Thankfully, the post continues to draw attention.  I am updating the post because you and your family need to know about the harm yellowjackets can do if you suffer an allergic reaction to their stings.

This spring I decided to be pro-active and try to lessen the chances of getting stung again in my own back yard.  Here are my recommendations to you:

On what planet do the people in the Obama Administration live?

How (fill in the expletive of your choice) tone deaf can the Democrats and supporters of the Obama administration’s plan to ask once wounded veterans to pay for their treatments (through their private insurance carriers) be? How could anyone consider this for even a nanosecond? It is hard to contain my anger at the vile nature of this exceedingly thoughtless and vile move.

H/T to GINA COBB for the following:

What can possibly going through Obama’s mind?

I thought President Barack Obama wanted universal health care for everyone! Well, I guess there are exceptions. Some people have to pay for all of it, and I guess Obama thinks the wounded Vet should be the one. But haven’t they already paid enough?

The leader of the nation’s largest veterans organization says he is “deeply disappointed and concerned” after a meeting with President Obama today to discuss a proposal to force private insurance companies to pay for the treatment of military veterans who have suffered service-connected disabilities and injuries. The Obama administration recently revealed a plan to require private insurance carriers to reimburse the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in such cases.

It became apparent during our discussion today that the President intends to move forward with this unreasonable plan,” said Commander David K. Rehbein of The American Legion. He says he is looking to generate $540-million by this method, but refused to hear arguments about the moral and government-avowed obligations that would be compromised by it.

The Commander, clearly angered as he emerged from the session said, “This reimbursement plan would be inconsistent with the mandate ‘ to care for him who shall have borne the battle’ given that the United States government sent members of the armed forces into harm’s way, and not private insurance companies. I say again that The American Legion does not and will not support any plan that seeks to bill a veteran for treatment of a service connected disability at the very agency that was created to treat the unique need of America’s veterans!”

The balance of this post can be read here.

Let’s see we’ve got money for Princess Pelosi to fly to Rome to visit the Pope and to have a private military plane at the ready, billion dollar bail outs for AIG, money for the White House staff to hold parties with $100 a pound meat flown in from Japan, money for silly ass projects like a high speed rail line between Disneyland in California and the city of Las Vegas, money for 9,000 earmarks, but no money for out vets!

If you can believe it, this is from the Washington Post on 12/25/08 from an, as yet, unidentified writer. I mean there’s slobbering and then there’s SLOBBERING. Andrew Sullivan did you write this?

The sun glinted off chiseled pectorals (wait I’m about to upchuck) sculpted during four weightlifting sessions each week . . .

Not to be outdone we now have to face two fatuous world leaders in various states of undress. To which I say, “please I’m beggin ya . . . will you put your damn shirts back on!”

Memo to the MSM. Unless the so-called Hunk Jerk in Chief looks like JFK Jr.johncollage12gi1

or Brad Pitt, or George Clooney, or Morgan Freeman (shirt on or off, he’s real man) or Denzel Washington or . . . just about anyone else . . . will you please stop snapping these types of pictures. They are not sexy. They are laugh-out-loud silly. Hey, where’s that barf bag?

Ok, boys ‘n girls, if this doesn’t scare the hell out of you, I don’t know what will.

Know how we’ve been gently poking fun at the Obamabots, the Kool-Aid kids? Maybe there is a real reason for their incoherent, incomprehensible behavior. Ever hear of NLP or Neuro-linguistic programming? Me neither, until someone directed me to this YouTube video a few minutes ago.

Now before anyone “jumps ugly” I’m not here to support or defend NLP or testify to its efficacy. I only ask you only to consider it is possible that the reason we’ve seen so many American voters behaving like sheeples in a trance is because they are in a trance.

View the video and contemplate my questions at the end.

  1. How is it possible that 5 days before the election we still do not know if Obama is eligible to run for the office of POTUS . . . that his refusal to provide the vault copy of his birth certificate remains largely unreported by the MSM . . . that we have an attorney trying to get the Supreme Court to force this basic documentation from Obama and the DNC?
  2. Why no air time on this even if you think Berg is a whack job? Is this not a bigger story than what RNC spends on Palin’s clothes?
  3. Why is getting proper documentation from Obama and the DNC even an issue?
  4. Can you name a single candidate for president, for any office, that had a logo designed to be used with every association of the candidate’s campaign? Name one candidate that has used a specially designed logo as a method of branding other than Hitler’s swastika or Obama’s red, white, and blue circle.
  5. How can anyone forget that creepy video with the kids singing, “Obama’s gonna change it” and “yes we can, can, can?”
  6. Anyone forget the Obama “Truth Squads” in Missouri or questioned why there has been so little coverage of this outrage? The differnce between the concept of Truth Squads and Brown shirts is what now?
  7. Has anyone forgotten Obama’s “phony presidential seal” or the removing of the American flag from his plane only to replaced with the Obama brand logo?
  8. How ’bout those President Obama coins the DNC has been passing out for weeks?
  9. Think the Philadelphia TV and the Florida TV station will be the only media to be sanctioned by a faux President Obama?
  10. Think dissent of any kind will be tolerated in a faux Obama presidency? Think Joe the Plumber is an aberration?

There are other questions to ask yourself, including why would anyone vote for this man?

MSNBC is investigating allegations that Governor Sarah Palin has been caught ripping off “do not remove” pillow tags.

Sources inside the Palin home spoke to MSNBC’s David Schuster, on the condition of anonymity fearing retaliation from the Governor. Inside sources say that Palin has a long history of tearing tags off of pillows. It is also alleged the “do not remove” tag tearing extends to cushions and comforters in addition to bedroom pillows and throws.

It is not known if, John McCain, the GOP presidential candidate was aware of Palin’s addiction prior to his selection of Palin as his running mate and choice for the office of Vice President of the United States.

This has been a busy day for Schuster, as he also broke the “tanning bed scandal” during MSNBC’s afternoon programming.

It seems soon after Palin was elected Governor of Alaska that she had a private tanning bed installed in the Governor’s mansion. Schuster reported that Palin used her own money to buy the used equipment that was eventually installed.

It is not known if Palin used her office to pressure the seller of the used equipment to get a better price, or if she used the power of her office to keep people from finding out about her addiction to tag tearing.

Schuster ended this report with the words, “I thought you should know!”

I was thinking about this, after learning that John McCain’s VP choice is Sarah Palin. Her story and credentials are very attractive and compelling. I say this as a supporter of Hillary Clinton, a long time Democrat now a PUMA, a business woman, a Catholic.

Palin is a very pro-life Republican, mother of 5 children, the most recent child born months ago. What makes this last birth so (many would say) extraordinary is the fact that Palin knew in advance that this child had Downs Syndrome and chose not to abort the child. That makes her a hero in my book because I know this couldn’t have been an easy decision.

Over the years, I’ve been involved in many passionate discussions with men and women about the pro-life pro-choice debate. Yet, I have always been ambivalent about abortion while firmly defending a woman’s right to choose. A very dear friend of mine, herself a mother of 4 children, the last girl born late in life and mentally challenged, told me if pro-choice had been an option she would not have borne this girl because of the negative impact it had on her and her husband and family. I never knew any woman that took abortion lightly . . . not one.

Despite Rome’s position on contraception and like most American Catholics I have no problem with birth control. In years past, big families were the norm. I remember one family with 15 children! That means the mother of this family had been pregnant for 12 years of her life. Wrap your head around that one! One rarely sees Catholic families with 5, 6. 7 children today; two or three children seem to be the norm.

All of that having been said, I wonder how Teddy Kennedy and Caroline Kennedy can support Barack Obama coming from one of the most Catholic family’s in America. The Catholic Church’s position on on conception and abortion are very clear. On March 29th when talking about his daughters, Obama said, “if his daughters made a mistake, he didn’t want them punished with a baby.” He referred to his possible grand child as a mistake. As usual, the MSM skipped over this one, but the blogoshpere did not.

I cannot stand in judgment of anyone, but I remain puzzled on the Kennedy’s support of Barack Obama given his position on abortion.

Ah, impeachment and sexual misconduct by a public official, apparently these warrant little or no coverage by the MSM unless there’s a Clinton involved. How else can you explain what we’re NOT hearing and what’s NOT being reported?

Would someone answer this question, how is it possible the MSM has been virtually silent about former Senator John Edwards 2:30 am meeting with his paramour and love child? Granted, this has been reported by the National Enquirer, but absent a complete and outright denial from Edwards, why no follow-up? BTW, its not as if the Enquirer hasn’t been right in the past, right Rush?

I’m asking this question as a former Edwards supporter who greatly admires his wife’s courage and character. I’m asking this question as someone who always thought the Bill/Monica story was none of our business . . . that this should have always remained a private matter between Bill and Hillary . . . that it was never a story to have trotted out for the world to gawk at.

It has been suggested that one reason for the MSM not covering this story is because Obama is still considering Edwards as his VP. AND, if the MSM looks the other way, this pick could still be possible! Say what? It’s as good a guess as anything. This is a legitimate story. It does not have to be covered with the same heavy-handed partisan way the Clinton/Monica story was, but this needs follow-up, particularly if Edwards is (was?) being considered for the #2 spot on the ticket.

Now, on to impeachment, other than Jonathan Turley’s post here, last week, and an email from a friend, the MSM never brought my attention to this story. Friday afternoon I went to C-Span to see, indeed, hearings were taking place; a surprise given the fact Pelosi had taken the issue off the table 2 years ago. I had to Google this story this morning to get a concise article about what is taking place. Here is part of Friday’s Voice of America article:

US Congressional Panel Hears Testimony on Case for Bush Impeachment

25 July 2008

Robinson report – Download (MP3) audio clip
Robinson report – Listen (MP3) audio clip

A congressional committee has heard testimony about the case for impeachment of President Bush. VOA’s Dan Robinson reports, while majority Democrats have ruled out formal impeachment efforts, they approved the public hearing to examine limitations on presidential powers and arguments about what constitute impeachable offenses.

Critics say President Bush and Vice President Cheney should be impeached because of a range of alleged legal and constitutional abuses.

The list includes administration justifications to Congress and Americans for the war in Iraq, authorization of secret electronic surveillance, approval of harsh interrogation techniques, and defiance of congressional subpoenas.

Granted these impeachment efforts are driven, primarily by Congressman Dennis Kucinich, and in some quarters just a mention of his name is “enough said” but is that a reason for the virtual silence. Yes, yes, some outlets have done reporting, but nothing major from the cable outlets.

Surely, what was happening on Friday was more important than the “newsless news” recently reported like, Obama’s plane lands in Germany.
